Recognition for Ethical Business Practices

Recognition for Ethical Business Practices

Sep 28 , 2021

We are pleased and a little proud to announce that Gem City Fine Foods has been recognized as Finalist  in the Utah Ethical Business Leadership Awards for 2021! What does this mean? We were recently recognized at an awards breakfast by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at University of Utah as one of 6 organizations singled out for ethical leadership in the state of Utah. The awards recognize an overall winner and a finalist in each of three categories: Business, Non-profit and Government. (Zions Bank was recognized as this year's overall winner in the Business category.) Click here  to learn more about the initiative, the awards and this year's winners. And you can watch the video interview of OM Liam and Packaging Lead DJ on our Vimeo page, here.

On a related note, we are disappointed to announce that a severe dry ice shortage in the Salt Lake City area has led us to make the difficult decision to close our online store temporarily. We especially regret having to do this as we roll into holiday season, but our product quality and customer safety are our priority. Please keep your eyes peeled for the reopening when the shortage abates. It will be grand; we promise! And meanwhile, scoot over to our Where to Find Us page  to look for a retail store in your area. (We have expanded into the Pacific Northwest, Washington and Oregon friends, and are now available statewide in Harmons Grocery stores in Utah!)

With continued supply chain and labor shortages, we are making daily decisions that will help us maintain our business and our commitment to you.
